Design and Build
This model stands out with a leather cover panel and an aluminum chassis. The body feels rigid, and the hinge allows one-hand opening. The laptop is very portable at 1.2 kg and 14.6 mm thickness, which is practical for frequent travel. A downside of the glass palm rest is that fingerprints appear quickly during normal use.
Display, Audio, and Webcam
The 14-inch 4K IPS touch panel provides high sharpness and strong visual quality. The source data reports high brightness, strong contrast, and full sRGB coverage, making the display suitable for photo and video work in addition to office tasks. The dual Dolby Atmos speakers are loud enough for a medium room. The 720p IR camera includes privacy-focused features such as a shutter and presence-related protection functions.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The island-style keyboard offers short key travel but clear feedback, which works well for long typing sessions in a thin chassis. Frequently used keys are comfortable in size, and backlighting is usable in low light without being overly bright. The touchpad is large and responsive, though the surface can also collect fingerprints quickly.
Performance and Upgrade Limits
With the Core i7-1165G7 and Intel Iris Xe Graphics, the Yoga Slim 9i is designed for everyday productivity, web work, media use, and light content tasks. The 16 GB LPDDR4x memory and 2 TB SSD provide smooth multitasking and strong storage capacity in this configuration. The key upgrade limitation is memory: RAM is soldered, so future memory expansion is not available.
Ports, Battery, and Thermals
Physical connectivity is limited to three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and one combo audio jack, so many users may need adapters for daily peripherals. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The 63.5 Wh battery is reported at around 8 hours of web use and about 7 hours of 1080p video playback under moderate brightness. Under heavier work, the chassis can run warm and fan noise becomes clearly audible.
Verdict
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is a premium ultraportable with a sharp 4K touch display, strong mobility, and solid day-to-day performance. It fits users who prioritize design quality, low weight, and a high-resolution panel. The main compromises are non-upgradable RAM, limited port variety, and a surface that shows fingerprints quickly.
