Dell Latitude 3301 Review: Compact Business Basics in a 13.3-Inch Chassis
Editor note: This English review is an original adaptation based on the source material from Notebook-Center.ru.
Overview
The Dell Latitude 3301 is a compact business notebook built for office routines and work trips. In this configuration it uses an Intel Core i5-8265U processor, 8 GB of memory, a 256 GB SSD, and Windows 10 Professional. The overall idea is practical rather than flashy: low weight, a business-focused feature set, and enough performance for documents, browser work, spreadsheets, and everyday multitasking.

Design and Mobility
Dell gives the Latitude 3301 a restrained business look. The chassis uses plastic and aluminum alloy, the panels are matte, and the silver-and-black color scheme keeps fingerprints less visible than a glossy finish would. At 307.6 x 204.5 x 14.9 mm and 1.17 kg, it is easy to carry in a bag and does not take much space on a desk or cafe table. The body can open beyond 135 degrees, and the base lifts slightly to make typing more comfortable and to help airflow.
Display, Audio, and Webcam
The 13.3-inch display offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a matte surface, which makes it a practical match for office applications, websites, and spreadsheet work. Text and interface elements look sharp, and the anti-glare finish helps indoors by reducing reflections. The main compromise is the panel itself: viewing angles are limited, so the image can shift when the screen is tilted. Audio from the stereo speakers with Waves MaxxAudio Pro is clean enough for calls and casual media, but bass is weak. The 1 MP webcam is suitable for basic video meetings rather than high-quality image capture.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard area is naturally tighter because of the 13-inch format, and some keys around the arrow cluster are compressed. Even so, the layout is standard and the keys have clear markings and noticeable feedback, which helps during long typing sessions. Backlighting is included for work in darker rooms. The touchpad is elongated, responsive, and supports common gestures such as scrolling and zooming without obvious lag.
Performance for Office Work
This Latitude configuration is aimed at business productivity, not heavy creative workloads or gaming. The Core i5-8265U is a four-core processor that can handle typical office tasks without difficulty, while 8 GB of LPDDR3 memory is enough for several applications and many browser tabs at the same time. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 is fine for video playback and light image work, but it is not intended for demanding graphics tasks. The 256 GB SSD gives the system the fast storage behavior expected from a modern work laptop and provides enough space for documents, projects, and a modest media library.
Ports, Wireless, and Battery
The port selection is functional but not extensive. You get USB 3.0, USB Type-C with DisplayPort, HDMI, a microSD card reader, and a combined audio jack. There is no built-in RJ-45 network port, so wired Ethernet is not part of the package. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1. Battery capacity is 3680 mAh, and the source material describes runtime as up to about five hours at best, which means frequent travelers may need to watch the battery level carefully during longer days away from a charger.
Verdict
The Dell Latitude 3301 is easy to understand: it is a lightweight business notebook with solid build quality, useful everyday ports, a comfortable backlit keyboard, and enough speed for common office workloads. Its biggest strengths are portability and practical business usability. The main drawbacks are the limited-viewing-angle display and modest battery life. For buyers who want a small work laptop and can accept those compromises, the Latitude 3301 remains a sensible, no-nonsense option.
