Overview

ASUS VivoBook S15 S533EQ is positioned as a universal 15.6-inch laptop for office work, study, media use, and light content creation. The tested configuration includes an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, and a 512 GB SSD. In daily use, the model focuses on portability, modern I/O, and comfortable input devices rather than creator-grade screen quality.

Design and Build

The laptop uses a metal chassis with a slim profile and a travel-friendly 1.8 kg weight. The hinge is firm, and the body remains structurally stable in normal use. ASUS offered this series in multiple lid colors, while the interior keeps a more neutral silver-and-black layout. The maximum opening angle is about 130 degrees, so placement flexibility is moderate.

Display, Audio, and Webcam

The matte Full HD panel is comfortable for long office sessions and everyday media, and the review notes no PWM flicker. At the same time, brightness (around 300 nits), contrast, and color coverage (about 60% sRGB) limit suitability for color-critical professional photo or video work. The Harman Kardon stereo setup is clear enough for casual listening but light on bass. The 720p webcam is serviceable for routine video calls.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The island-style keyboard includes a numpad and backlight, with a short key travel and clear feedback that supports fast typing. The arrow cluster is compact, which may take adjustment for users with larger hands. The touchpad surface is smooth, gesture support is responsive, and corner tracking remains reliable.

Performance, Ports, and Battery Behavior

The Core i7-1165G7 and MX350 pair handles everyday multitasking, office workflows, 1080p streaming, and lighter graphics workloads. Entry-level gaming is possible in less demanding titles, but this hardware is not intended for modern heavy AAA games at high settings. Connectivity is practical for the class, with Thunderbolt 4/USB-C, HDMI, USB-A ports, and microSD. The 50 Wh battery reaches about 8 hours in web browsing or 1080p streaming at reduced brightness, while gaming can reduce runtime to around 2 hours. Thermal behavior is controlled in regular workloads, and fan noise stays moderate.

Verdict

ASUS VivoBook S15 S533EQ is a balanced mainstream notebook for users who want a portable 15.6-inch system with a modern processor, discrete entry-level graphics, and solid day-to-day usability. Its main compromise is the display quality for professional color work and non-upgradable RAM in this configuration. For office productivity, study, and mixed home use, it remains a practical and well-rounded option.
