Design and Build
The magnesium-lithium alloy chassis keeps weight very low while maintaining rigidity. The review notes good assembly quality with no obvious flex in key areas. The business-focused design stays understated, and the ErgoLift hinge slightly raises the keyboard for a more comfortable typing angle. The laptop is also easy to open for service, although memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded.
Display, Audio, and Webcam
The 14-inch matte IPS panel offers Full HD resolution and strong contrast, with full sRGB coverage reported in the source review. It is well suited for indoor office use, but peak brightness around 300 nits can be limiting in bright outdoor conditions. Speakers are clear but not very loud and light on bass. The 720p IR webcam supports Windows Hello sign-in, and a physical camera shutter adds extra privacy.
Keyboard and Input Experience
The keyboard uses a familiar layout with comfortable key travel and backlighting levels for different lighting conditions. The source also highlights spill resistance, which is useful in office environments. The glass touchpad is large and responsive, and it can switch to a numeric keypad overlay for quick number entry. A fingerprint reader is placed next to the touchpad for fast authentication.
Performance and Connectivity
With the Intel Core i7-10510U and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620, this system is built for productivity tasks such as office applications, web work, communication, and multitasking. The 1 TB SSD gives ample storage, and the chassis provides another internal slot for additional storage. Connectivity is modern for a business notebook, including two Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports, HDMI, USB 3.1, and wireless support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Battery, Heat, and Noise
The 33 Wh battery delivered good results in the source test scenario: around 7 hours of web browsing and about 8 hours of 1080p YouTube playback. USB-C charging support and fast charging are practical for travel. Under load, the review observed increased heat around the hinge area and noticeable fan noise, so the laptop is less ideal for very quiet environments during intensive tasks.
Verdict
ASUS ExpertBook B9450 is a strong option for users who prioritize portability, business security features, and solid daily productivity in a premium ultra-light form factor. Its key compromises are modest screen brightness for outdoor use, non-upgradable RAM, and higher noise under load. For mobile office professionals, it remains a practical and capable business laptop when these trade-offs match the workload.
